Before the Iron Yard, I had a fascination with tinkering with website design, now I have the tools to get the layout done efficiently, and professionally. My attention to detail with layout and design is something that I pride myself in.
I began the Iron Yard with no javascript knowledge, and am now fully versitile with javascript and javascript frameworks. For my final project, I used Angular.js with a boiler plate comprised of NodeJs and MongoDB. I was especially proud of my ability to manage the scope of my project and turn a prolonged dream into reality.
A portion of our projects at the Iron Yard were required to be tested so that we could understand the importance of, and gain experience in writing test driven applications.
My final project allowed me gain some limited knowledge about MongoDB and NodeJs. I was excited to get hands on experience with a new set of backend tools. At the Iron Yard, Github, and package managers like Bower and NPM were used everyday, these things have become second nature.
